 Kent and Sussex Region Activities

Kent and Sussex Region covers an area stretching from Chichester in the West to Canterbury in the East, and we try to organize events in different parts of the region accessible to as many members as possible.

We meet each month, usually on the second Thursday, for an informal lunch at Dean's Place Hotel in Alfriston. Meet in the lounge from 12 noon. No need to book in advance.

The next Dean's Place lunch will be on Thursday, 12 October, and the last one for 2017 on 9 November. Dates for Christmas lunches are given below.

Other upcoming activities are:

Wednesday, October 25th, 10.30am.

A trip has been organized to Lancing College Chapel, a Gothic Revival Grade 1 listed building . We will be taken around by Dr. Janet Pennington who will tell us not only its history but regale us with anecdotes as she was archivist there and has lots of behind the scenes stories. The building was started in 1868, still isn't finished and is the largest school chapel in the world.

Lunch will follow in the Hummingbird Restaurant, situated in the main terminal at Shoreham airport where we can choose as we like from the menu, watching the occasional aeroplane taking off and with stunning views of the Chapel ! This building is an Art Deco Grade 11* listed building built in 1934-36 and has plenty of original fixtures and a small museum.

The cost of the tour will be £10 per person, please complete and return the booking form to Heather Johnson as soon as possible

We look forward to seeing you there!
